VISHAKA Cell /Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

Introduction

The main aim of the Vishakha cell is to create a helpful as well as encouraging environment to women towards the higher education using their potential by teaching them the values of honesty, integrity. The committee works under Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell.

As per the order of Supreme Court, India and hence subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC) time to time; Cell constitutes for one or more of any intention by any student or group of students or any other on the following points:

-Any act which deal with the cases of sexual or emotional harassment

-Any act which disrupts the Regular Academic Activity of a lady student / lady staff.

-Any act through social media [e – mails, what’s app, face book, SMS, etc.] which abuses the girl student by words or picture.

-Any act which of Physical Abuse causing Assault, Harm or danger to Health.

The VISHAKA Cell will work under the Supervision of the Principal and engage in the works of checking which taken at various places like Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student. The college VISHAKA Cell / ICC is a Supervisory and Advisory Committee in removing cases of sexual and emotional harassment and taking an appropriate action in time. VISHAKA Cell will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for any cases of harassment of any type in the college.

At the beginning of every academic year, college constitutes the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) which functions under the Women’s Grievance Redressal Cell to keep a vigil and stop the incidences of harassment, if any. The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) under the guidance of Women’s Grievance Redressal cell will also educate the students through various activities to create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular gender discrimination.\

Resolution of Complaint

-Once a complaint submitted to the cell, the members of the cell started taking the action through Standard Operating Procedure.

-The committee continuously takes the follow up of the complaint till it gets solved completely with the help of rules and regulations given by the UGC time to time.
